Clinton Industries Pty Limited was established in 1969 as a specialist manufacturing firm, orientated to public and farm water supply. The company is owned by a local family, and operated by Laurie Chapman, who has tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, liquid hydraulics, and  Electrical Engineering. He grew up in a farming community, and gained his shearers ticket, woollclassers certificate, shearing shed experting certificate, basic welding training, and tractor maintenance training, before embarking on the tertiary education at University and TAFE.

In 2006, the workshop was moved to Lucknow, a small village just East of the city of Orange on the Central Tablelands of New South Wales. In consideration of the historic features of the village, "Lucknow Pumps" was established, as a division of Clinton Industries Pty Limited.

PUBLICATIONS

In 2014, Laurie was guest lecturer at the Holistic Farm Management Diploma course at TAFE, and was required to produce a suitable text book. His book entitled "Practical Water Supply - Stock and Domestic" covers:-

Water Requirements,    Water Sources and Storage,    Water Quality,    Pressure and Friction,  

Pipes and Fittings,    Types of Pumps,    Power sources and Applications,    AC Electric Motors,

Water Supply Systems,    Submersible Bore Pumps,    Pump System Controls,    Maintenance,

Data Tables and Conversions.
